Ball Flight Description: The ball will start to the left of the intended target line and continue on this orginal line. Contrary to popular belief, this is not a hook.

Are you a Puller?

• Do you hate water or trees left?

• Have troubles hitting Par 3 greens on your first shot?

• Do aim way right to keep your ball on the proper target line?

• Do you occasionally hit a snap hook?

• Do you divots point left of your target?

• Do your misses tend to be long and left of the target?

• You are a good bunker player, but you tend to pull your shots.

Is this your ball flight?
Pull

The Possible Causes why:

• Your body weight moves to the left foot in the backswing, as your body sways to the right.

• The ball is too far forward in your stance.

• Your hands tend to be positioned behind the ball at address.

• You have a steep angle of attack.

• During the downswing your hands get ahead of the lower body movement, this results in a swing path that starts on the outside of the ball.

• In order to make contact with the ball you must stand up straighter into impact. This causes the club to be pulled inwards towards yourself, resulting in the ball starting to the left of the intended target.

• Your right elbow points towards the sky at the top of your swing. (flying elbow)

How to Fix Your Golf Swing

• Narrow your stance.

• Move your ball position further back in your stance into a better position.

• Check your aim and alignment.

• Work on slowing down the unhinging of your wrists into impact. See our distance section under lag for more details.

• Try to flatten your swing, and make it more vertical rather than around your body.

• Make sure your lead shoulder is higher than your trailing one at address.

• Do not get your weight ahead of the ball moving into impact.
